The new school year is just around the corner, and with it comes the second year of our project. We are excited to continue our international collaboration and look forward to another year full of new experiences, encounters and insights.
This school year, two international exchanges are on the programme: Germany in November and Portugal in March.

🇩🇪 Germany – Multilingual storytelling and podcastingDuring our exchange in Germany, our students will explore the creative possibilities of multilingual communication through two activities.

First, they will create a multilingual Kamishibai, a traditional Japanese storytelling method using a series of illustrated boards. Working together, our students will develop a story in English while incorporating other languages spoken within the group. 
The second activity focuses on developing a multilingual podcast. Our students will choose a topic that is relevant to them, such as cultural identity, gender, stereotypes or social inequality.

🇵🇹 Portugal – Being critical onlineIn Portugal, the focus will shift to internet communication and digital media literacy. Together, we will explore the opportunities and dangers of the online world and reflect on our own use of social media.
Students will learn to identify fake news, ideological bias, alternative facts and hate speech, while developing a more critical approach to the information they encounter online.

We are already looking forward to new encounters, new perspectives and new insights during this second year of our project. We can't wait to see what our students will create, discover and learn together!

Over the past few weeks, we have mainly focused on sharing the experiences and insights we gained during our mobility in Denmark with the students and teachers at our schools. During open school days, some students spoke about what they had learned and the opportunities offered by Erasmus+, while others organized and led their own poetry slam workshop for their classmates.

Meanwhile, the teachers have been working behind the scenes to evaluate the first project activity and complete the necessary administrative tasks. As the current school year is coming to an end, our attention is now turning to the exam period.
We would like to wish all students the very best of luck with their exams!

In September, we will continue with the second half of the project and start preparing for our upcoming exchange visit to Germany. We are looking forward to the next chapter of this exciting Erasmus+ journey.

Following the mobility activity in Aarhus, Denmark, we invited several participating students to create a poster reflecting on their experiences and sharing their thoughts about the Project ID activities. These posters, which are attached in the accompanying PDF document, provided students with an opportunity to look back on their time in Aarhus in a personal and creative way.

After the experience in Denmark, it’s time to share everything we’ve learned. The five students who took part in the mobility trip taught their project teammates about the 'Poetry Slam'.

Where possible, we also strive to develop additional initiatives that focus on inclusion and well-being. Today, the Belgian fourth-year students (15–16-year-olds) are taking part in a special project day on resilience, titled “Resilience in Turnhout,” organised within the framework of the Wereldwijs course.

During this day, students are introduced to local social initiatives such as Ligo Kempen and Kontoer (WEB). They also gain first-hand experience of what it is like to navigate Turnhout with a disability, encouraging empathy and awareness.
In addition, the students are visited by Rob Beenders, Minister of Consumer Protection, Social Fraud Prevention, Persons with Disabilities and Equal Opportunities, who will share insights into his accessibility policy and its importance in building a more inclusive society.

After a visit to Den Gamle By, it's time to say a festive goodbye. All students cooked together and took the time to celebrate the closing of this project week. Each student received a certificate and a goody bag as proof of their participation. Tomorrow we will travel back home. We are already looking forward to the continuation of this project.

After a week of working on the art project, the students presented their artworks to the school and to our European partners. The artwork was officially inaugurated, marking the highlight of the week. Some students also performed the slam poetry they had written during one of the workshops, delivering powerful live performances. In the background, visitors could listen to recordings of poems created by all the students. We concluded the event with a podcast in which the students already took a moment to reflect on the inspiring and creative week they had experienced together.

This morning we continued working on our art project. The students are finishing their individual puzzle pieces, and the first pieces are already being placed together in a mosaic shape. Meanwhile, all the poems are being recorded and combined into one final piece. In a few hours, we will reveal the result to the teachers and students during the official vernissage.
